Si Bon - Rancho Mirage, CA

Si Bon is just So So!

At a friend's suggestion we had lunch at Si Bon which translated means So Good. I can't say it was so good, but I can say it was so crowded, so noisy, and the tables were so close that my chair was up against another diner behind me.

Known for their Belgian waffles and crepes, we opted for their signature waffle sandwiches. I had the pastrami and Gruyère cheese version with slaw and frittes.

The presentation was certainly novel, a waffle folded taco style in a metal taco rack, but the outcome was hard to eat and a little light on flavor.

However, the frittes were crisp and bountiful. For $18 it was fairly priced but really overrated. So, an okay experience but not so so good.
